We have harnessed existing clinical trial data in pediatric anxiety by establishing a data repository, the Platform for Anxiety Disorder Data in Youth (PADDY). This global resource will be used to investigate treatment predictors and moderators to advance personalized care for child mental health. To date, use of this dataset has been driven by clinical researchers in academic settings. Given the potential of this dataset to inform treatment decision making, it is critical that we maximize its utility. Rather than answering questions solely driven by researchers, it is important to understand the questions children, parents and clinicians want answered. Thus, we consulted with young people and parents with lived experience of anxiety, along with clinicians (psychologists, psychiatrists, paediatricians, school counsellors, mental health workers). We have conducted Lived Experience and Stakeholder workshops leveraging several established advisory groups (youth, clinician, school). Workshops were guided using an established lived experience framework and individuals were asked to provide feedback on the project as a whole, as well as determine the research priorities in terms of available data (i.e., “what questions could PADDY answer that are relevant to you?”) and data that should be prioritised in future clinical trials (what relevant questions is PADDY unable to answer?). This latter question will provide suggestions for future clinical trials that will increase the future capabilities of PADDY. This will increase the insight gained from the project, and ensure its relevance to and clarity for a broad range of people, including non-specialists.
